If there’s one person who knows what it’s like to have beef with Drake, it’s Pusha T. Speaking Saturday during the Saint & Citizen Presents: Saint Sessions Live at Art Basel, Push shared his thoughts on being name-dropped by Kendrick Lamar during the back-and-forth with Drake earlier this year.

Kendrick raps in the song, “I don’t like you poppin’ s*** at Pharrell, for him, I inherit the beef/ Yeah, f*** all that pushin’ P, let me see you push a T/ You better off spinnin’ again on him, you think about pushin’ me/ He’s Terrence Thornton, I’m Terence Crawford, yeah, I’m whoopin’ feet.”

“I guess he was just telling him he needed to address me before he comes back and tries to go at him,” Push said of the song, calling the battle an “awesome time” for him.

He also maintained that K. Dot was the winner of the back-and-forth.

“I think that Kendrick is a lyricist and a lyricist that talks to your soul. You can be clever, you can say cute things, you can do things in cadences and so on and so forth, but the truth really hurts and the truth cuts deep,” Push said when asked what K. Dot did to win the feud. “I think what Kendrick was doing was really talking to his soul. I believe that would cause you to tap out, that would cause you to sue, that would cause you to do a lot of things. It’s crazy.”

His mention of suing refers to Drake’s recent lawsuit against UMG, which accused the label of engaging in unethical practices that made “Not Like Us” the hit that it is.
