Harlem is back on Prime Video with its final season, starring Meagan Good as Camille, an anthropologist who quit her teaching job at Columbia University last season. She also ended her relationship with Ian (Tyler Lepley) and is coping with that reality in the season 3 premiere.

“[Camille’s]…been trying to navigate how to pursue her ambitions and still have love and be true to herself and be authentic and accept that some things are different than what she thought or expected…,” Meagan tells ABC Audio.

Throughout the season, Camille is also asking herself some “hard questions” in hopes to understand her issues and their root causes, which Meag says is important to do before entering relationships.

“I think that before you can get into love…you have to start asking yourself [those] questions and…begin your healing process of things that may not even have anything to do with…the other person, but just your upbringing,” she says.

As Camille navigates this healing journey in season 3, Meagan says “she’s figuring it out and…coping the best way she can.”

“Sometimes it’s not graceful and sometimes it’s crazy and sometimes it’s really grounded,” she notes of the process. “But most of all, it is loved on by her best friends and people who love her unconditionally for who she is at the core, even if they don’t always agree.”

Things in Camille’s career are also not what she expected, but she’s exploring who she is and what she wants.

Meagan says, “I think she’s gotten to a place where she’s not accepting some things, she’s choosing some thing and trying to navigate exactly who she is in this season and understand that…what she thought should be her life story…it’s okay for it to change and…look different.”
